A New Season

This Saturday is the last day for Bloomfield Beads to set up at a craft show.  After this show Bloomfield Beads will be closing.  My hope is to have all the final paperwork done and submitted by the end of this month.  That also means that this is the end of this blog.  It's time for a new season.  I'm not sure what God has planned for me, but I'm excited to find out.

I've set up a new Twitter account and a new Facebook account that is not related to the business.  I'm not sure if I'll ever put anything there but I'll share the links.

Thank you to everyone who read this blog and commented.  I've made some great friends along the way and I appreciate the support that everyone has given me.

Today's Project Part 2

Remember this picture from yesterday?

Part of my problem was that my daughter decided she wanted my storage shelves and bins for her room, so she took them and left my stuff sitting out everywhere.  This problem required a trip to my basement to see what I could find to contain the mess.  In the midst of bikes, storage bins, and a kayak, I found a plastic rolling storage container with drawers.  It isn't pretty but it will work.

With everything cleaned up, I was even able to work on a few projects that I found at the bottom of the piles and had forgotten about.  More about that another day.

Today's Project

I'm not proud of this picture, but this is what my sewing area looks like right now.  I titled this a 'before' picture even though this is the current state of the room, because by tomorrow this should be the 'before' picture.

I haven't sewn hardly anything this year.  Sewing has just been at the bottom of my list of priorities.  However, with 2 craft shows coming up next month, I need to get a few things done.  I'm ashamed to say that this room has looked like this for a long time.  Just to be clear, I am a semi-neat person and this is not normal.  (Doesn't that tv look ancient?!)  My project for today is to clean up this room so I can work here again.  Hopefully tomorrow I will have a wonderful 'after' picture to post.

Am I the only one with a room in this condition?

Brie and Audrey Photo Shoot

We don't let our cats outside but it was a beautiful day for taking pictures and Brie wanted her picture taken with Audrey.  As you can see, Brie holds her like a baby and she doesn't care at all.  Audrey was fine outside until some birds started fighting, and then she was so scared that she was shaking.  We took her inside where she felt safe again.  I don't think there's anything that a few treats can't make better.

Back to a Routine

Summer is over for us now, and it's time to get back in a routine.

We had one last get together over the weekend for Travis' graduation.  Our relatives are mostly closer to the Saginaw area so we rented a pavilion at the park and had a party.

Travis surrounded by his aunts and uncles.

Brie was hiding from the camera but I caught her off guard.

Brie started school last week and Travis started college classes a couple of weeks ago.

Travis is attending the local community college this semester.  He's wanted to go to Olivet Nazarene University ever since he was a little boy and he just found out yesterday that he was accepted for next semester.  That means that we'll be spending the next few months getting him ready to go to Illinois.  He's going to major in multimedia production.

It's been a crazy year so far and the craziness isn't over yet, but little by little we are getting back in a routine and returning to normal.  Normal is good.

Peace

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27

Police officers.  Private Investigator. Lawyers.  Sounds like a great tv show, but it's been my life this year.  Full of trouble.  Multiple incidents of unjustified trouble.  We now have a private investigator and we're on our 3rd lawyer this year.  God must have something great planned for us because Satan seems to be scared.  However, this post is not about my trouble. (Just to be clear, nobody is going to jail.)

Every day I seem to hear this verse at some point during the day.  I've had knots in my stomach for most of this year, which has been great for losing weight, but I know it isn't right.  I think God is trying to tell me something. I'm on a quest to figure out how to rest in God and not have a troubled heart. I know that we will have victory in the end.

I was sitting on my back patio this morning thinking about how peaceful it is my back yard.

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27
